Art Talks: Edward Hopper House and Nyack Library Present

  • The Nyack Library 59 South Broadway Nyack, NY, 10960 United States (map)

The Edward Hopper House is pleased to collaborate with the Nyack Library to present our series of quarterly Art Talks beginning in 2017.

HOPPER AND EUROPE

Edward Hopper is renowned for paintings of American towns and landscapes, but his trips to Europe were crucial to this achievement. Visiting Paris as a young man, he studied Impressionist works by Monet, Degas and others, and would often recall them in his own paintings.

Guest lecturer Richard Kendall is an art history scholar and independent curator specializing in Degas and 19th century artists. Mr. Kendall is a former curator for the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA.
