“Kristallnacht” | An Open Call

This exhibit will be about remembrance and about standing up for what is good and morally right for everyone to live in a world of love. It is to remember Kristallnacht, meaning the “Night of Broken Glass” which occurred in Germany, Nov. 9 & 10, 1938. Eligibility: This juried exhibit is open to all artists. BIKE RACK/SCULPTURE COMPETITION

Artists are invited to submit a proposal to design and plan an Edward Hopper inspired sculptural bike rack. Artists interested in designing and fabricating a bike rack/sculpture must register by September 1 by sending a letter of interest and CV to info@hopperhouse.com. Calling all Rockland Muralists

ArtsWestchester, in partnership with the New York State Thruway Authority and the Arts Council of Rockland, seeks proposals from professional New York State artists or artist collectives interested in creating a permanent mural for an underpass on the Rockland County landing of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge shared bicycle and walking path (“the path”). The mural should be original in design and accessible to a diverse audience. Artists are strongly encouraged to consider the regional context of the mural location, including the history and culture of the Hudson River Valley and the surrounding communities in particular. Call for Entries | The New Rochelle Art Association 104th Annual Open Juried Show

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years and older. Artist may submit up to 2 entries. All 2D work must be suitably framed, minimum 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas acceptable, wired (sawtooth hooks will not be accepted at delivery) and ready to hang. All work must be finished and completely dried. Size of 2D work must not exceed 34” x 40” inclusive of outside edge of frame. Triptychs (all three parts) should keep within the size parameter requirement. All sculpture must be firmly attached to a base, and may be asked to bring a pedestal. Crafts may not exceed 18” in height due to display case size limitations. All work must be hand delivered and unpacked, and cannot exceed 100 pounds. No nudity will be accepted. Submissions are accepted in the following categories: Short Shorts (Less than 5 min), Shorts (Less than 10 min), Short Features (Less than 40 min), and Features (Over 40 min). Awards are presented for: Best Feature, Best Foreign Film, Best Local Documentary, Best Short, Best Short Feature, Best Short-Short, Best Score and People’s Choice Award.
