Performance Poetry Workshop

  • Friends-Harmony Hall 15 Liberty Rock Road Sloatsburg, NY, 10974 United States (map)

The focus of this workshop will be on how we use our bodies and our physical space to improve how we perform our poetry.

Dress comfortably; don't wear accessories or jewelry that can fall off. Denim is not recommended.

The workshop is led by Anthony McPherson. Anthony McPherson (aka Tony Fearnone) is an Oklahoma boy living in New York. His biracial poetry intertwines various artforms such as breakdance, stop-motion animation, and a myriad of character impressions. You can find him repping the Nuyorican Poets Cafe (5th in the National Poetry Slam) or at the bar with his typewriter, cranking out haiku for problematic celebs. In his online series 'BS Bigots Say,' he crafts comment section responses so that all the social justice warriors, mages, paladins and rogues might equip themselves and slay trolls more beautifully.

Space is limited, so sign up in advance. The cost of this workshop is $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Advance tickets may be bought at

There is parking at the venue; the venue is also accessible by public transit -- it's a 6-minute walk from the Sloatsburg station on NJTransit's Port Jervis line.

This event co-sponsored by the Friends of Harmony Hall and the Town of Ramapo.
